Helpful tips make customizing a breeze

If outdoor fitness is your thing, SportsTracker Pro is here to help you reach the next level. This GPS-based performance tracking app for your Android device helps you measure your speed and distance, map routes, count calories, and create visual charts of your workouts. Compete with fellow athletes and share the results in real time using SportsTracker Pro's powerful live technology. You can even connect to external devices to track your current fitness status down to the last detail.

Use SportsTracker Pro when you go running, cycling, snowboarding, windsurfing, and much more. It doesn't matter what kind of athlete you are--if you exercise outdoors, you can use SportsTracker Pro to improve your performance and surpass your personal records.
A Useful Fitness Tool

SportsTracker Pro offers a number of tools to help you get the most out of your workout. Its simple layout and easy-to-follow prompts make basic operation a cinch, and there are plenty of ways to customize its settings.

The main menu consists of a simple set of options--this is where you can start a new workout, look up records of past sessions, or pair the app with an external device to monitor your heart rate, breathing rate, running cadence, and skin temperature (this device is sold separately). The menu's buttons are large and easy to touch, which is important when you're on the move.

Getting Started
SportsTracker Pro
Setting up a workout, no matter how intense, is simple

If you want to start a new workout session, touch the "Start" icon for a standard workout or the "Start Live" icon for more robust tracking features. (You'll need to create a free account to use the "Live" function--it only takes a moment.) After making that choice, you'll be taken to a screen that offers several customizable fields. You can select the type of exercise you're going to engage in--the dropdown list ranges from walking, running, and cycling to snowboarding, windsurfing, inline skating, and more--as well as enter your location. You can also name the workout to distinguish it from others in your archive.

When you're ready to start, the next step couldn't be simpler--just touch the big "GO" button at the top of the screen. The phone's GPS device will kick in and establish your location, and large numbers will appear on the screen, showing the elapsed time and distance you've traveled so far. (By the way, you'll want to wear your phone on an armband when you're working out--holding it in your hand or a loose pocket won't cut it, for safety and practical reasons.)

And here's a nice touch: To circumvent the temptation to constantly look at your phone during a workout, an automated voice calls out periodic updates as you go. If you'd rather the app be seen and not heard, however, this option can be turned off with a quick adjustment to its settings.

If you're looking to go above and beyond in your workout tracking, connect SportsTracker Pro with an external device. The Zephyr HxM chest band tracks heart and running cadence, while the Zephyr BioHarness tracks heart rate, breathing rate, and skin temperature. This app is also compatible with Polar WearLink Bluetooth chest transmitters. All of these devices are sold separately from the SportsTracker Pro app.

Keeping Track

SportsTracker Pro keeps a record of each workout you tracked, and it's easy to navigate through them. After touching the "Recent Tracks" button in the main menu, you'll see a list of all your workouts organized by date. Touch any individual listing to see a detailed record of a particular workout.

On the main detail screen you'll see how many calories you burned, your speed and overall pace, and the distance you traveled. Touching the Map tab at the top reveals a Google Maps rendering of the course you took, with the cool option of seeing your progress replayed in slow motion over the map. The Chart tab offers several visual representations of your workout: With these charts, you can easily see the peaks and valleys in your performance and pinpoint the most challenging spots.
Going Live

If you're the competitive type, e-mail your friends or post your workout results on Facebook and Twitter. You can also upload live and recorded workout sessions directly to SportsTracker Pro's website, where you'll find many additional resources. Record your workouts to the website in real time and share them with friends--all they need to do is log in to their accounts on the site and see your results.
